Code Standards

Standards We Work To

Our work is governed by the following NFPA standards, building codes, and Texas state regulations. Every installation, inspection, and service call is performed in compliance with the applicable standard.

NFPA 10

Portable Fire Extinguishers

Governs the selection, installation, inspection, maintenance, and testing of portable fire extinguishers in commercial occupancies. We perform annual inspections and 6-year maintenance per this standard.

NFPA 13

Installation of Sprinkler Systems

The primary standard for the design and installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems. All 7K sprinkler system designs are engineered to NFPA 13 requirements.

NFPA 25

Inspection, Testing & Maintenance of Water-Based Systems

Defines the inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements for sprinkler systems, standpipes, and fire pumps. Our inspection programs are built around NFPA 25 schedules.

NFPA 72

National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code

Covers the application, installation, location, performance, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. All 7K alarm installations and annual tests follow NFPA 72.

NFPA 96

Ventilation Control & Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking

Establishes the requirements for commercial cooking operations, including kitchen hood suppression systems. We perform semi-annual inspections per NFPA 96.

IFC

International Fire Code

Adopted by Texas and most DFW municipalities, the IFC governs fire safety requirements for commercial buildings. Our team is ICC-certified in IFC compliance.

IBC

International Building Code

Sets the baseline construction and fire protection requirements for commercial buildings. We coordinate with general contractors and AHJs to ensure IBC compliance on every project.

Texas SFM

Texas State Fire Marshal Rules

Texas-specific fire protection regulations administered by the State Fire Marshal's Office. All 7K work is performed in compliance with Texas SFM rules and licensing requirements.

Why It Matters

Why Code Compliance
Matters for Your Property

Code Violations Are Costly

Non-compliant fire protection systems can result in failed inspections, stop-work orders, fines, and delayed certificates of occupancy. Getting it right the first time saves time and money.

Insurance Requirements

Most commercial property insurance policies require documented fire protection inspections and code-compliant systems. We provide detailed inspection reports for your records.

AHJ Coordination

We know the DFW Authorities Having Jurisdiction — the local fire marshals, inspectors, and permit offices. That relationship means faster approvals and fewer surprises.

Liability Protection

Properly installed and maintained fire protection systems protect your tenants, employees, and business from liability in the event of a fire. Documentation matters.
